ANNUAL LEARNING AND REVIEW MEETING (ALARM) ON LAND GRABBING

On November 2017 YVE Ghana was part of a panel discussion at a 2-day Annual learning and review meeting on land grabbing in Ghana themed:

Securing Community Lands for Domestic Agricultural Production and Food Security in the Context of SDG 2 (End Hunger, Achieve Food Security and Improve Nutrition and Promote Sustainable Agriculture)

During the discussion the below were some recommendation and challenges

Recommendation

  • Implementation of Land Reform Policy/Land Administration project (1999)
  • Land Title registration
  • Passage of Land Bill to LI
  • Holistic Spatial Planning
  • To regulate land business sector

Challenges

  • Poor land administration and management
  • Lack of clear boundary demarcation – land dispute
  • Inadequate land use plans – special planning
